The Finnish train Sibelius operating between Helsinki and St Petersburg has just been refurbished and since autumn 2006 has been running on the new shorter route between Kerava and Lahti. The journey from Helsinki to St Petersurg only takes 5h09, which is 40 minutes less than before!

Besides the refurbished Sibelius, the Russian Repin is also still operating between Helsinki and St Petersburg. A one-way journey in the Sibelius or Repin costs 56 EUR per person, 2nd class.

The Tolstoi operates daily between Helsinki and Moscow departing at 18.27 and arriving the following day at 08.25. This night train has recently been equipped with new luxury sleeper compartments including a private shower and DVD player.

The fare for one person in a shared double sleeper on the Tolstoi is 115 EUR.
