Oliver was previously working for Deutsche Bahn AG in Frankfurt as a project manager within the Railteam Highspeed Alliance. Prior to this position, he led the Pricing and Distribution operations for the setup of the DB-SNCF high-speed service. ICE sprints across Hannover and Berlin
The 10-year anniversary of the recognised high-speed route between Hannover and Berlin was celebrated yesterday with additional ICE services running between the two destinations. “This connection is a track-record for us. The number of passengers on this route has gone up by 40% in the past ten years” states Ingte Leuschel, the commissioner of the corporate group of Deutsche Bahn for Berlin. Between 1997 and 2007, the number of passengers on this new route rose from approximately 19,000 to over 27,000 in a day. According to calculations produced by the Deutsche Bahn environmental centre, the toxic emissions on the Hannover-Berlin route have since then been hugely reduced. This includes around 600,000 tones of CO2 and approximately 2,000 tonnes of nitrogen oxide. Deutsche Bahn is also continuing to develop and implement the latest technology to provide high-speed services across Germany.
