Eurostar
From Berlin you can quite easily reach several fascinating German cities in a day-trip. So it is possible for you to stay in your hotel in Berlin and go on a sightseeing tour for example in Hamburg, Dresden, Leipzig, Hanover, Weimar or Wolfsburg.

At speeds of up to 300 km/h the InterCityExpress (ICE) takes you to your destination quickly and safely, offering best comfort. With its wide range of services and modern, comfortable interiors, travelling with the ICE becomes a real pleasure.

The well proven InterCity (IC) train travels at hourly or 2-hourly intervals between many cities and tourist regions at speeds of up to 200 km/h. Trains with the same, internationally stipulated, quality standards as the IC, but linking Germany with major cities in neighbouring European countries, are the EuroCity trains (EC).
Berlin – Hamburg: 1h 36min

The InterRail Germany Pass is available for 3, 4, 6 or 8 days of travel within the maximum period of one month.

Age limits
  • Customers aged 26 and over on the first day of validity of their Pass can buy an 'Adult' Pass in 1st or 2nd class
  • Customers aged 12 up to and including 25 years can buy a 'Youth' Pass, which is only valid for 2nd class train travel
  • Customers aged 4 up to 12 years old receive a discount of 50% on the fare for an 'Adult' Pass, 1st or 2nd class
  • Children aged 0 up to and including 3 travel for free
Country of Residence

You can buy the InterRail Germany Pass if your country of residence has been one of the following for at least 6 months:
  • one of the InterRail community members:
    Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom;
  • one of these European countries:
    Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Cyprus, Estonia, Faroer Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Russia, San Marino, Ukraine, The Vatican;
Train staff will check the residency in your travel document, so make sure that you bring the right documents.
Reservations or supplements for special trains
There are some special trains in Germany that require a reservation or supplement, such as the ICE Sprinter, the Thalys (special fare), Berlin-Warszawa Express and night.
