Hanover, Museum
Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen
Did you know that there is only one collection of baroque gardens in Germany which are still in their original state? In the district of Herrenhausen you will find particularly fine examples of landscape gardening, which together form a grand display of the art of European horticulture over three centuries.

The gardens were created by Sophia, Princess Palatine of the Rhine, and invite you to stroll pleasurably between the richly ornamented beds and water features. Furthermore the Royal Gardens provide a magnificent setting for the annual firework competition where the world’s leading pyrotechnists cast a magic spell across the evening skies.

Sprengel Museum

With its comprehensive collection and diverse programme of temporary exhibitions, the Sprengel Museum ranks among the major centres of 20th century art. The last 20 years have seen the collection expand to include works from the most important areas of contemporary art – among them masterpieces of world famous expressionists such as Picasso and Chagall.
