TEE Rail Alliance - Travelling between Germany, Austria and Switzerland
The TEE Rail Alliance is a co-operation between Deutsche Bahn and the national railway companies of Austria and Switzerland. TEE offers a standardised and simple fare structure that makes travelling between the three countries easy and transparent.
National discount cards valid on international connections
With TEE Rail Alliance, your German BahnCard, Austrian VorteilsCard and Swiss Halbtaxabo or Generalabonnement are also valid on international connections into the other two countries. This means that in addition to national discounts, you receive an extra 25% discount on the foreign routes.
Children travel for free!
Children up to 16 years travel free on an international trip. The accompanying adult(s) must have a ticket for a journey which crosses at least one of the borders between the three participating countries, and the child has to be accompanied by at least one parent or grandparent (The ticket is not valid for travel with any other relative or friend.).
DB UK has been appointed official agent for Austrian Railways (ÖBB) and is now able to offer many tickets for domestic and international travel in, to and from Austria.
